From 13 to 15 October 2023, the Residential Workshop took place at Villa Favorita in Marsala.
This three-day event offered a programme of alternating plenary sessions and laboratory activities, all designed to enhance teaching and communication skills. These activities ran in parallel, enabling participants to select the sessions that best suited their interests and training requirements.
The first session introduced the concepts of active learning and problem-based learning (PBL) through presentations by teachers. Antonella Lotti, Alessia Scarinci and Giulia Vincenti.
The second session, led by Prof. Piercarlo Romeo and Alberto De Panfilis, explored experiential learning in more depth.
The workshop received very positive feedback from participants. Evaluation questionnaires showed that approximately 90% of teachers subsequently integrated the methodologies learnt into their courses, revising some or all aspects of their teaching approach. Additionally, over 70% of participants recognised the workshop as a valuable opportunity to foster professional relationships and cultivate a sense of community within the project.
The workshop provided valuable training and an opportunity to share good practices and useful teaching innovation tools with their students.
